Can I have a consultation via phone or video (Zoom)?

At Bell & Senior, we utilise modern technology to make legal services accessible, but we believe that the strongest legal relationship starts with a personal connection.

1. Our First Appointment Policy

For your initial strategy session, we prefer to meet you in person at our Southport office.

There are three key reasons for this preference:

• Document Review: Legal matters often involve complex bundles of contracts, court papers, or financial records. It is significantly more efficient to review these physical documents with you in the room.
• Clear Communication: A first appointment is where we “hear” you and understand the nuances of your case. Physical meetings allow for better communication of complex details without the technical delays of video software.
• Identity Verification: We often need to certify documents or verify your identity early in a matter.

2. When Can We Do Virtual First Appointments?

We understand that not everyone can travel to Southport. We are happy to conduct your first session via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Phone if:

• You live interstate or in regional Queensland.
• You have physical mobility restrictions or health concerns.
• You are currently overseas.
• Urgent circumstances prevent you from reaching our office.

3. Post-Initial Consultations

Once we have established the strategy for your matter and reviewed the primary documents, we are more than happy to facilitate all follow-up meetings digitally.

We use a suite of secure technologies to make this seamless:

• Secure Video: Private links for your appointments.
• DocuSign: For secure, legally binding digital signing of most legal documents.
• WebVOI: A specialist app for remote “Verification of Identity” (standard for property and estate matters).

4. How to Book

When you call to book your appointment, our reception team will ask if you can attend in person. If you require a digital session, simply let them know your situation and we will send you a secure meeting link.
