If you or your children are experiencing domestic or family violence, your immediate safety is the highest priority. Below is a directory of emergency contacts, support services, and legal resources for the Gold Coast and Queensland.

1. Police Emergency (Triple Zero)

If you are in immediate danger, or if a domestic violence incident is currently occurring, do not hesitate, call the police immediately.

2. DVConnect Womensline

A free, 24/7 Queensland-wide crisis response service that helps women and their children escape domestic and family violence.

  • When to call: For emergency transport, emergency accommodation (refuge/shelter), safety planning, and crisis counselling.

3. DVConnect Mensline

A free, confidential telephone counselling, referral, and support service for men. It supports men experiencing domestic violence, as well as men seeking help to stop using violence in their relationships.

  • When to call: For counselling, advice on Domestic Violence Orders (DVOs), and support for male victims.

If a domestic violence incident has occurred but you are no longer in immediate danger, you can contact the police non-emergency line to report it or request assistance.

  • When to call: To report past incidents, breaches of a DVO where the perpetrator has left the scene, or to request a police welfare check.
